Pavla Mazancová

I was born in Turnov and lived in Železný Brod until the age of fifteen, when I moved to Prague to continue my studies.

In 2009, I began studying at the Prague Conservatory, and I am currently studying at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU). I have been a member of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra since June 2015, playing in the second violin section.

What instrument do I play?

I play a violin made in 2009 in the workshop of Jaroslav Kohout.

What was my childhood dream?

At kindergarten, I wanted to be a hairdresser. Later, when I started commuting to music school, I wanted to be a train conductor. But from the moment I first sat at a music stand in a large symphony orchestra at my music school, I realised that this was what I wanted more than anything else. I was eleven years old at the time.

What do I enjoy?

First and foremost, I really enjoy my current work. In my free time, I enjoy baking — and, afterwards, eating what I have baked.
